Nanu Nanu

Here are your Mork and Mindy Nike Dunks.

Mork and Mindy was a TV show where Robin Williams acted the fool as an alien from planet Ork. His character was a cross between an early Balky Bartokomous, totally un-super Super Man, and socially challenged Alf. His trademark rainbow suspenders briefly became a mainstream fashion item while the show catapulted Robin Williams into super stardom.

I noticed the gold swoosh on gold leather, which is a reference to Mork's spacesuit. The rainbow soles are also a great touch.

"Looking for adventure
or whatever comes our way
aint nothing gonna make it happen
na na na loving brace
Fire all your guns at once
And explode into space

Like a true nature's child
we were born
born to be wild
fly so high
never gonna die"

Nice Lacing

this all started one day when i was rushing home because i had to go to the bathroom. i noticed a pair of dunks with cool lacing rolling by on a bike. the dude had made an X with the set of four lace holes; the contrast between the bright laces and blue dunks was rad. dude rolled away on his bike, but i was still thinking about documenting that little innovation. I still had to go to the bathroom pretty badly, but the regret of missing the shot was hurting worse. i kept walking.

then i spotted the same kicks as dude was locking up his bike and i knew what i needed to do. we spoke and i documented his fly lacing, he asked what i would do with the photos and i said i would post them on a sneaker blog maybe, he said which blog and i didnt know. this is that blog.
