Hoyas of the New School

Nike's Hoyas, also known as Terminators, are a touch of tough guy and a lot of grit. If you were gonna re-invent them in the present day, you'd throw a splash of bright on, because they never make them like they used to.

What's Duke Got to do With It?

Wild AF1s with weird lace holes and big tongue graphics. I dont think these have anything to do with Duke basketball, but what else could it be?

Man in Black Blazers

Johnny Cash was seriously deep. Black shoes are serious, but probably not that deep.

Nanu Nanu

Here are your Mork and Mindy Nike Dunks.

Mork and Mindy was a TV show where Robin Williams acted the fool as an alien from planet Ork. His character was a cross between an early Balky Bartokomous, totally un-super Super Man, and socially challenged Alf. His trademark rainbow suspenders briefly became a mainstream fashion item while the show catapulted Robin Williams into super stardom.

I noticed the gold swoosh on gold leather, which is a reference to Mork's spacesuit. The rainbow soles are also a great touch.

Nike ID is Whats for Breakfast

If you are gonna Nike ID then pick the Trainer 1 and go crazy. (Perhaps avoiding the number 13 for good luck's sake)

However, make sure to get your size right or else you will really need some creativity.

One option is to keep them on your kitchen table, less as a paper weight or vase, more as a reminder that impulse purchases, pay day euphoria, and hubris can be a dangerous mix.

On White Jordans and Keeping Them Clean

Nice banter with the gentleman in these Jordans, he learned the dangers of white shoes at warehouse parties one fateful New Years Eve. [Reaally??] Now he is very touch and go about bringing the white shoes out of the box, unless we are talking about some Vans.

Personally, I have taken the somewhat extraordinary measure of never wearing white shoes on Fridays. It is kinda like the old Catholic tradition of not eating red meat on Fridays (hence all the Fish specials) or that no white shoes after Labor Day thing. Fridays tend to be random and spontaneous as well as really messy in the UK.

Anyways, these are Air Jordan Flight 45s and they are buttery in various color ways.
